Pickens, James V. (Bud), age 87, of South Knoxville, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. James was a member of Meridian Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Tom and Kate Pickens; wife, Lillian Cooper Pickens; son, Jimmy Pickens; sister, Jean Lowe. Survived by sons, Robert (Barbara) Pickens and Doug Pickens; daughter-in-law, Anne Pickens; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Curtis Pickens; sisters, Jerry Day and Dana (Kyle) Weaver. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Meridian Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm with Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Family and friends will meet on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
