

James Alvin "Jim" Setzer, age 83, of Knoxville, formerly of Hickory, NC, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church. James was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Retired from Free Service Tire Company. Preceded in death by his wife, Lou Rita Setzer; parents, James Alfred and Minnie Setzer; brother, Grover Setzer; and sister, Catherine Course. Survivors include son, Earl Setzer and wife, Angela; grandsons, Allen and Tucker Setzer; brothers, Thomas (Debbie) Setzer, Lewis (Lala) Setzer, Richard (Sherry) Setzer, Robert (Gloria) Setzer; sisters, Carrie West, Annie (Donald) Huffman, Ruby Setzer, Jeanie Bowman; and a host of nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lady. The family will receive friends Monday, June 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church, at 8622 Pickens Gap Rd., Knoxville, TN 37920, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Dwight Singleton officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 9:15 a.m., at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy, for a 9:30 a.m. interment service.
