James "Jim" Francis Smith

Jim worked as an engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and retired in 1990. In retirement, Jim enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his beloved wife, daughters, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed sports and was a big Tennessee Vols football fan. Jim's funny sense of humor was shown to all he knew and will continue through his legacy. He attended First Apostolic Church in Knoxville, TN.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Earl Kuhlman Smith, mother, Emma Bradford Smith, siters Helen Louise Saylor, Dorothy Jane Jett, June Earle Watson, and brother William Wayne Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Vicky Smith, daughters, Janet Rene Voor (husband Joseph Voor), and Sheri Lynne Patrick, sons Todd Anthony Smith (wife Samantha Smith) and Gregory Scott Smith (wife Vickie Smith): 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 10:00am -12pm at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. The funeral service will follow at 12pm. Pastor Mark McCool will officiate the services. Interment following the service at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
