Jesse James Knight, age 81, died on Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was the best mechanic and hydraulic repairman ever. He was also the best dad and papaw ever and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janis Dillingham Knight; daughters, Janis Rosa Knight; Cynthia (George) Brown; and Kathy (Ronnie) Wallace; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren: brother, Leroy (Caroline) Knight; sister, Johnnie Fay (Terry) Wilburn; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Rev. Ron Rose officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday to go in procession to Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 1:00 PM interment.
