

John was preceded in death by his son Bradley Goodwin, his parents, John A. Sr. and Nellie Goodwin; brothers Dwight Goodwin and Jack Goodwin.
John was born in Mountain City, Tennessee on August 1, 1938. He is the founder of Interstate Steel Corporation in Knoxville. John’s philosophy was doing whatever good he could for those that God put it in his path. Many lives have been touched by him and he felt blessed to be a part of each and every life.
John is survived by his children Jennifer, Tim, Jeremy and Jacob; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Dorothy Coker, Florence Spangler, Bill Goodwin, Loretta Houser, Nellie Ruth Buckner and Brenda Goodwin as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, interment will follow with procession to Greenwood Cemetery.
