John Henry Pope

John Henry Garland Pope, age 94, of South Knoxville, passed away December 30, 2017. Born in North Carolina in 1923, John Henry was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army Air. After he was discharged he began his career at Gray Knox Marble Company and later became Assistant Superintendent of Tennessee Marble Company and eventually retired from Robertshaw. Preceded in death by wife, Imogene Lucille Hunt Pope; daughter, Mary Andrea Pope Beckner and son, Bryan Keith Pope. He will be greatly missed by son, John H. Pope and wife Gail; step-granddaughter, Melissa Foster; granddaughter, Katrina Bowser; great grandchildren, Marie Gass and Matthew Beckner of Knoxville; son- in-law, Toby Beckner; many loving nieces and nephews and special friend, Judy Adams. The family will receive friends 5:00pm-7:00pm Friday January 5, 2018 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37290. Family and friends will meet Saturday January 6, 2018 at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 12:00PM Graveside Service. Full military honors by East Tennessee Honor Guard. Chaplain Reid R.
