

Joseph S. “Blood” Brooks, age 68 of Dandridge, passed away suddenly November 24, 2015. He was an active member of Swannsylvania Baptist Church. Joe was retired from Knox County Sheriff’s Department after 36 years of service. He was named the 2000 Halls Man of the Year; a member of Fountain City Masonic Lodge #757 F. & AM, Knoxville Scottish Rite and FOP. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe H. and Ruth A. Brooks. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Frances Palmer Brooks; daughters, Fran Dockins and husband Greg of Corryton, and Donna Williams; grandson, Harrison Williams; sister, Sandy B. Mynatt and husband Jim; nephew, Dustin Mynatt and wife Morgan, all of Knoxville; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers Tom Spangler, Ronnie Chamberlain, Donnie Chamberlain, Mike Lett, Roby Moore, Perry Smith. Honorary Pallbearer, Eddie Russell. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Swannsylvania Baptist Church Hispanic Ministry at 921 Swannsylvania Road, Dandridge, TN 37725. Family will receive friends at Berry’s Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services led by Bro. Mike Hensley will be on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with procession to follow. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Norris Freeway, in Knoxville. Arrangements by Berry’s Funeral Home located at 3704 Chapman Highway.
