I am so truly in grief over Joe's passing.  I have known him now 10 years and even though my employment with him ended several years ago, he and I had stayed in touch with one another.  He always brightened my day with our silly banter, and we had several long conversations.  We were kindred spirits, and my heart rejoiced to learn of his rededication to Christ.  I already miss him so much.  I am praying for peace and comfort for us all.

I shall truly miss Joe.   He was a great boss and I enjoyed working with him.  He will be greatly missed.

I was sitting under cover at Brandywine's deli in Winter Park in 1980. When it started to rain, I asked the big red headed guy sitting in the rain to come on over and stay dry. 
And so it started. Joe stayed in Florida, for a while, lived at my house, decided to move back to Knoxville when I got married in 1986, afraid he may get locked into a relationship that would keep him from ever getting back to Tenn. 
He made lasting friendships here. Our group got together for golfing trips and made annual visits to each others' homes. Met many of Joe's friends from childhood to golfing buddies at Holston Hills. 
Once he got back into motorcycles, we managed to do Bike Week or Biketoberfest each year in Daytona. 
To all Joe's Family, Pam & I offer our most Sincere Condolances. We love Joe, always will.

A man’s man , most genuine and loyal friend best describes my pal of 20 years. His innate gift to embrace relationships was evident whether 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months lapsed.. you always picked up where you left off. RV trips hauling motorcycles were worthy of  the funniest video award. I would offer to drive..he would turn his head so stoic and serious, then with his infamous grin, reach overhead, turn up the volume of Allman Brothers..”I got this..relax pal”. Supper with Joe was a bag of pork rinds. His unexpected calls with “hey pal I don’t want to talk to you”...how is Sugar and the 3 girls. His call to Sugar every Mother’s Day was classic of his golden heart. If I hadn’t had a good argument in a while and needed to blow off some steam, I’d stop in the office and get “what are you doing here?”...I just came to visit my only liberal friend (NOT)...a 1/2day later we’d both be exhausted. “Joecephus” as I called him...after a trip where the RV window was shot out over the top of me..when I figured out I was still alive..I opened my eyes to Joe in a pair of cowboy boots, boxer shorts wielding a .38..I don’t think he would get excited if his butt was on fire. His recount of being struck by lightning in his suburban was better than any stand-up comic could deliver. I’ll miss the 12:01 a.m. or 12:05 a.m. January 1 birthday calls...the time was a function of whether I called first or Val Riggins did. I know your fine pal and in good hands now. It’s my fervent prayer that all the tears are dried and all the heavy hearts are lifted by the fond memories and blessings you shared.

My Prayers go out to the family. My first encounter with Joe was in elementary school when all the schools got together for field day. I saw him and thought he was the cutest boy I had ever seen. My elementary school crush. In high school I silently continued my crush on him. I don’t think he even knew who I was...
Sorry to hear that he has passed away but he is with our Lord and Savior  now. See you in heaven someday.

I have heard so many wonderful & funny stories about Joe from Shorty & his brother Sammy.  They both loved him dearly and will miss him more than words can express.  Our thoughts & prayers are with his entire family and all of his friends.

I always loved running into Joe at the post office  or the bank. We always stopoed to talk and he made my day. I always left laughing and with a smile. We have been friends for over 30 years. I know I will see you one day in heaven. I will miss you until then. Godspeed my friend!

I've known Joe for a year but it seemed we had been friends forever . He had such a love for life .  Our friendship was important to each other . There were so many things he said he wanted to show me but never had the chance . Heaven gained an amazing angel . He will be greatly missed .

Joe became part of our family when he and Greg became friends in 1st grade. I have a lifetime of memories that I would not take anything for.  He felt like my brother in a lot of ways. When you saw Greg, you saw Joe. I will miss his big smile, his hugs and being together remembering crazy things he and Greg did.  God truly received a wonderful, loving angel Tuesday.  I can just imagine him, Daddy and Chris Brown all together in Heaven!  Until we meet again, goodbye my wonderful friend .  I will love you forever.

How many people feel like their plumber is part of their family?  Well, we've been fortunate enough to have Joe as a "family member" for more than 30 years.  He was always there ... big smile, big ideas, big solutions, a bigger-than- life individual.   We join all of you, family and friends, who will miss Joe Johnson, and who have been blessed by his presence in our lives.  

I met Joe through dear friends of ours Lee and Carol. I bought my first boat from Joe. Some of you may remember it. It was a wooden 27 foot Trojan. I sank that damn boat less than two weeks later. At the time I was selling real estate in Beaufort South Carolina. I Saul Joe is vacant piece of land. The only problem was the one he really bought was next-door to the one I told him it was. He did mine too very much. The bottom of the page from me shortly there afte at the time I was selling real estate in Beaufort South Carolina. I sold Joe a vacant piece of land. The only problem was the one he really bought was next-door to the one I told him it was. He didnt mind too very much.   He bought another piece from me shortly there after. Rest in that beautiful peace good man. Look up,  give a hug and say hello to my beautiful sister Ashley.  I’ll see you again my friend.  

My thoughts and prayers to the family. Joe was always full of life and left a smile on a lot of faces. Many good memories growing up and at the lake. He will be missed.

When I think about Joe, I see that big smile. All my sympathy to his family.
