Julia was a loving wife, mother, mamaw, and sister whose life was defined by her big heart and unwavering strength. She adored her beloved dog, Rufus, and found joy in painting, coloring, and spending precious time with her grandchildren. Being a Mamaw was one of her greatest joys, and she treasured every moment with her family.
Julia will be remembered as someone who was always there for others, easy to talk to, deeply caring, and generous with her love. She was a strong, stubborn, and determined woman who faced many health difficulties with resilience and courage, never losing her will or her compassion for those around her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jo Ann Mayton; sister, Connie Ray; brother, Gary McCarter; mother, Katherine McCarter; and father, Robert McCarter.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Michael Sizemore; daughter, Charlotte Mayton; granddaughters, Courtney Mayton-Faw (Chris) and Jazmin Mayton; great-grandchildren, Jasper and Phoenix; sisters, Betty Russell, Angie McCarter, Esther McCarter Silvey, Mary Bogue and Marilyn Stanley; along with many other extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
