June Johnston Harbison

Frances June Johnston Harbison, passed away on April 16, 2025 of natural causes. June was born on March 9, 1926, at home in Kingston, Tennessee. She was raised by a host of aunts and uncles during the depression years. June graduated from Roane County High School, then on to Tennessee Tech, where she met and married the love of her life, George Harbison (dec). George nicknamed her “Speed” and it stuck with her throughout her life. Together they produced five children : Mike Harbison (Bobbie) of Knoxville, Melinda Owens (Sam ) of Speedwell, David Harbison (Babett) of Knoxville, Libby Leinart ,(Ken Leinart-dec) of Knoxville, and John Harbison (Sandra) of Knoxville, in addition to 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. June was a member of Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church in Powell, TN., She spent her last years at Deane Hill Place in Knoxville, TN and enjoyed reading, puzzles, Bridge, Qwirkle, and many more games with her friends. She will be missed by all. The family will attend a private graveside service officiated by Dr. Thomas Sweet for June in Kingston, Tn.
