Lavergin is preceded in death by her husband, Mayor James L. Usry; parents, Rev. and Mrs. Dewey Douglas Stephens and daughter, Ruby Carol Davis Wright. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Rella Davis Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. James Davis III and Valerie Williams; grandchildren, Daniel Hassler, Jr., Vanessa Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Burris; great grandchildren, Dania Hassler, Ava Marie and Anessa Burris.
A memorial service for Lavergin will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919, followed by a visitation and reception at 2:00 PM.
