Margaret Jean Snyder

SNYDER, MARGARET JEAN, age 77, of Strawberry Plains, passed away February 2, 2014 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. Member of Union Baptist Church. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She loved children and making things with her hands. Preceded in death by husband, Carl William Snyder; parents, Grant and Mary Helton. She is survived by: daughters, Karen D. (Gary) White, Robin T. (Eddie) Cottongim; sons, Terry W. (Anna) Snyder, George G. (Carol) Snyder; sisters, Phyllis McGaha and Jan Anderson; brothers, Roger Helton, Hubert (Wilma) Helton, and Ronnie (Gail) Helton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Rev. Craig Cummings and Rev. John Thomerson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home and proceed to Cate Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Pallbearers will be grandsons. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church (audio/visual department) in Margaret’s honor.
