IN THE CARE OF
Berry Funeral Home
Marie Michele (Phillips) Holloway, age 75 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Cleveland TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a battle with cancer on March 12, 2023.
Michele was a retired teacher with a teaching career of over 25 years, most recently at South-Doyle Middle School. Her students loved her and her classes because she had a way of making things fun and engaging for them. They also knew she loved them. Many called her “Mamachelle.”
She had an enormous heart for animals and had many pets during her life including multiple dogs, cats, horses, and exotic birds. She would take in any stray and loved her pets as if they were her children.
Michele had many hobbies over the years in addition to her beloved animals including coaching little league baseball, flower gardening, painting porcelain art, playing the piano, singing in a band, and loved music and dancing.
Preceded in death by her mother, Amelia (Logan) Phillips; father, Norman C. Phillips; and sister, Carmen (Phillips) Buchanan.
She leaves behind her loving children: Monique (Hayes) Maples (Jim), Cozmo Holloway (Samantha), and Phil Holloway (Jaclyn); grandchildren: Keller Maples, Davis Maples, Jameson Holloway, and Jude Holloway; as well as her beloved nieces, great nieces, and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations on behalf of Michele Holloway to Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee https://sbret.com/donations.htm or Knox Vintage Pet Project http://knoxvintagepets.org/ Both organizations help to provide any needed medical care and foster older animals until they find them forever loving homes.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.berryfuneralhome.com for the Holloway family.
