Marion Jean Phillips

Phillips, Marion J. (Peggy) age 88, was born May 5, 1926 in Hitchin, County of Hertford, England (UK) to Ronald C. and Winifred E. Last. She and her son came over after WWII to America from Bishop Storkford, UK, to join her husband. She donated her time and energy to helping others. She worked for the Booster Club of South High School as her sons grew up. She joined The Pilot Club in 1986 serving the Center for Aging, as well as, The Alzheimer’s Association of East Tennessee. She spent many years giving of herself to the Salvation Army, as well as, working for the Angel Tree. Her soul left this Earth on October 26th, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Winifred Last; husband, Curtis A. Phillips; sons, Ronald J. Phillips and Stephan H. Phillips; and daughter-in-law, Marsha S. Phillips. Marion is survived by her son, Curt T. Phillips and his wife Lillian; grandchildren, Stacy P. Wood of Fairhope, Al., Amanda P. Oliver, Nikki Phillips, Caycie Brown, and J. J. Phillips; great-grandchildren, Kelsea and Ashleigh Shaw of Fairhope, Al., Brandon Oliver, Kaleb and Alexander Jenkins, Gabriel, Kat, and Caleb Spears, Megan and Ashlynn Brown all of Knoxville; great-great-grandchild, Audrianna Gambino of Fairhope, Al.; and many friends.
