

SMITH-FLEISCHMAN-GOOD, MARY MARGARET – age 88, born in Toledo, Ohio on December 6, 1923, she passed away peacefully on January 12, 2012 in Winston Salem, NC. Mary Margaret served in the U.S. Navy Company 52-44, Battalion 2 as a pharmacist mate 3rd class during WWII. She was the daughter of William Bartlett and Sallie Smith; stepmother Inez Smith; loving wife of Abraham Fleischman (NY). Survived by four loving and devoted children and their spouses; Robert Allen and Lynne Fleischman (NC), Patricia Carol Packer (NJ), Janis Rose and Jeff Howard (NY), David Lee and Rosemary (TN). Mary was a Grandmother to five adoring grandchildren and their spouses; Allison Miller (TN), Alissa and Tony Bateman (PA), Jeannine and Brett Stanley (TN), Sarah and Steve Keoningsberg (NJ), and Seth Gaynes (NY). Great grandmother to five beautiful great grandchildren Isaac, Lilly, Madeline, Charleston, and Gabriel. Mary is survived by her sister Nancy Anderson (KY); brothers Bill Smith and wife Janice (TN); Louis and David Smith (TN), sisters-in-law Joyce (TN), and Harriet (VA); she was preceded in death by her brothers Jack (TN), and Bart Smith (VA). Mary later married Joe Good (KY) father of Leah, Joe, Tim, Mark, Mike, and Perry. Our mother will be remembered always for her fun loving, caring and compassionate way, positive and selfless approach to life. Mary was a giver to all who needed someone and who always put others before herself. In that, she remains an inspiration and privilege to all that knew her. She will be deeply missed by all forever. She will be laid to rest beside her mother at Solway Cemetery at 1pm Sunday with Rev. Jimmy Duncan officiating. A gathering of family and friends will held immediately after the graveside service at Weaver Funeral Home on Western Avenue.
