
Shanon was born on November 10, 1969, in Missouri, and grew up in Knoxville. He graduated from Farragut High School in May 1988 and entered the US Army Reserves as PV1 in June 1988 – August 1988. He entered the United States Marines in March 1989 as PFC where he began his service at Parris Island and earned the title of Marine before becoming a dedicated member of FAST (Force Anti-terrorist Strike Team). Shanon was awarded Rifle Membership Badge, Pistol Expert Badge, Meritorious Mast and Letter of Appreciation. He was placed on honorable medical discharge in January 1991. Shanon attended East Tennessee State University before returning to Knoxville. Shanon was proud to be a US Marine and proud to meet a US Marine, or any military service member. He had tremendous respect for our Veterans. His career revolved around the auto industry for most of his adult life in auto sales, insurance, inventory purchases, body repair and detail.
His personal interests included spending time with his dogs and watching adventure movies. Mostly, Shanon had a great sense of humor and a big heart, filled with compassion, which drew him to help others who might be struggling in their life.
Shanon is survived by his father, John Hale Howard, Knoxville, Tennessee, and sisters Gina Renea Howard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Haley Howard (Jace) Lyon, Ooltewah, Tennessee, and his stepmother Nancy Howard, Knoxville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his father Michael Everette and mother Patricia Greaves.
The family will hold a private military committal service, arranged by McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, Knoxville, Tennessee, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
