Mildred E. Campbell, age 98, of Knoxville, TN, born on November 2, 1922, passed away on January 2, 2021. Mildred was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and also attended Lake Hills Presbyterian Church. She was a business owner and entrepreneur who had a great passion for gardening and painting. Mildred was the Mother Advisor of Beaver Ridge Rainbow Girls and also belonged to Beaver Ridge OES #320. She was also a member of the Ridgedale Home Demonstration and Lake Hills Presbyterian Church Women’s Day Circle. Mildred is preceded in death by parents Charles and Ervin Bentley; husband of 65 years Jay Campbell and son-in-law David Dunaway. She is survived by daughter Linda Campbell Dunaway; former son-in-law Mark Smelser; grandchildren Jay and Anthony Smelser; great-grandchildren Campbell, Porter, and Bray Smelser; grandchildren by marriage Seth Dunaway and Amanda Dunaway Gibson; great-grandchildren by marriage Gant and Libby Dunaway; special friends Gene Frye, Linda Worden, Gay Bridges, Evelyn Johnson and Judy Rogers; fur babies Simon Daniel and Priscilla. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church Building Fund, 5632 Nickle Road, Knoxville, TN, 37921. Family will have a call of convenience on Friday from 12pm-5pm at Weaver Funeral Home. Friends and family will meet at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Saturday at 2:45pm for a 3pm interment.
