Mildred Virginia DeArmond

March 1, 1945- October 13, 2025

Mildred Virginia DeArmond, age 80, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Mildred was a 1963 graduate of Rule High School. Following graduation she began her working career in payroll and Human Resources at Sports Bell, Athletic Helmet and retired from First Tennessee Bank as a customer service representative. She was a member of Island Home Baptist Church.

When she retired she transitioned to full time Granny for her grandsons, Chandler and Nolan. She could be found at many band concerts, football games and other after school activities. Mildred was a lifelong fan of the Pride of the Southland Band supporting her son and grandsons who were all members of the Pride.

Preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Carlyle DeArmond Jr., who passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 and mother, Mattie Mize; sisters, Lucy "Lou" Neubert and Mary Neubert; brothers, Fred, Clarence, Robert and Tom Mize.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Michelle DeArmond; grandsons, Chandler DeArmond and Nolan DeArmond; sister-in-law, Kay Mize.

The family will receive friends, 5-7 PM, Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920 in celebration of Herb and Mildred's life. A private interment will be held at a later date.
