Nancy is survived by her husband of fifty years, Steve Underwood; daughters, Jamie Underwood and Stephanie Benko; son-in-law, Mark Benko; granddaughters, Sarah and Anna Benko; siblings, Steve Cox, Brenda Owens, and Kathy Adams (Rick); and a large extended family of nieces and nephews, and their children.
Nancy, affectionately known as "Gram" or "Nonny", lived a beautiful life marked by abundant love and generosity to her family, friends, and community. She retired after 31 years of nursing at Y-12 in 2012 to spend more time with her family. She found joy in caring for others, traveling, watching UT sports, and all activities with her granddaughters.
Family will receive friends Thursday, July 17th from 5-7pm, at Weaver Funeral Home. A service will follow at 7pm, officiated by Rev. Dr. Jay Howell. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Nancy's memory.
