Olga graduated from Cocke County High School in 1973 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1977, Maters of Science in Guidance and Counseling in 1982 and a Masters in Nursing in 1991, from the University of Tennessee. Olga initially returned to teach in her childhood elementary school for 7 years. Following her first graduate degree she worked 5 years as a guidance counselor in Knoxville, Tennessee and Bloomington, Indiana. Following her second graduate degree in nursing, Olga worked for 25 years as a family and pediatric nurse practitioner with families and marginalized pediatric patients. She had a gentle kindness that she shared with people of all ages, but particularly with children. Following her life as a soccer mom and two sons leaving for college, Olga returned to the University of Tennessee in the Fall of 2010 to pursue a doctoral degree in Education. Persistently, seven years later she received her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education with a concentration in Leadership Studies. She continued working as a pediatric Nurse practitioner in a primary care clinic owned by East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and rounding in the newborn nursery at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Before retirement in 2020, Olga was a full time Assistant Professor at King University in the School of Nursing. Her professional goals were to treat her patients with dignity, compassion and empathy. As for her students, she hoped to share a lifetime of experience and knowledge with the next generation to enthusiastically and passionately care for their young patients.
Olga, affectionately called “Little O” by her sons, was a loving and caring mother, wife and friend. She was a living embodiment of God’s love and each day demonstrated the power of kindness to all. Her sons were “the two best parts of her day” and rarely a day went by that she would not ask “Have I told you today that I love you.” We are honored and proud to call her mom and loving wife.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel Chesteen and her father in-law, Bill Eisenhower.
Olga is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mike Eisenhower; mother in-law Dean Eisenhower; sons, Michael Eisenhower and Jared Eisenhower; daughter in-law Taylor Eisenhower and her brother Charles Chesteen.
