Peggy Joyce Ellison

Peggy was a devoted member of Wooddale Free Will Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as organist for over 50 years, sharing her musical gift with her church family. She was a 1955 graduate of Carter High School and dedicated 25 years of service to the Carter Elementary School cafeteria before her retirement, where she nourished countless students with both food and kindness.

Peggy was blessed with a long and loving marriage to her husband Eddie, sharing 58 wonderful years together. Her home was always filled with love and laughter, whether welcoming grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or any child who needed care. She had a special gift for making everyone feel like family, and she helped raise many children throughout her life with the same devotion she gave to her own. Peggy and Eddie enjoyed traveling together, sightseeing, and visiting relatives, creating cherished memories along the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ellison; her parents, Willis and Nellie Dykes; brothers Neil and Rodger Dykes; and sister Sheila Hoskins.

Peggy is survived by her sons Brad Ellison and Gene Ellison (Crystal); daughter Kim Bright (Pat); grandchildren Josh, Jessica, Ashli, Eric, and Brittany; and several great-grandchildren who will forever treasure her memory.
