

Rachael was born April 30, 1940 in Anderson, South Carolina the daughter of the late George Manning Taylor and Sarah Alice McDaniel. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah Manning Spearman and Janet Lynn Taylor Allred.
Rachael studied microbiology at Emory University and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Masters in Library Science. Her long and rewarding career in the fields she loved included archiving, genealogy, teaching, and library management. She loved to travel the world, touring Europe before entering college and visiting Shanghai after retirement. She eagerly accepted the burdens of life and left no debt unpaid. She loved her dogs. She loved literature. Above all she loved her family. She was a beautiful and loving mother to three proud sons and a loving grandmother to two very talented grandchildren.
Rachael is survived by her three sons, Gil Manning Ferri, Peter John Ferri, and James Anthony Ferri; her two grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Ferri and Anthony Manning Ferri; her sister Margeret Elizabeth Taylor; her dog ‘River’; and her cat ‘Miss Kitty’. She wished her friends and loved ones not to mourn her death but to celebrate the good times we all shared with her.
