Rebecca Barnett Glass

REBECCA BARNETT GLASS- 73, Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2016 after a brief illness. Born June 28, 1942 in Wytheville, Virginia. Preceded in death by parents, Peyton A. Barnett and Nancy W. Barnett and nephew John Lynch Sanders. She graduated from Marion High School, and attended the University of Tennessee. Becky served faithfully as church secretary at West Hills Presbyterian Church for 35 years. She was a woman who loved her family, her church and the Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Glenn M. Glass, former Univ. of Tenn. and NFL football player. Her sons and daughter-in-law: Glenn M. Glass, Jr., Rev. Michael A. Glass and Charlotte Glass. Her granddaughters: Hannah Ruth Glass, Emily Anne Glass and Sophie Rebecca Glass. Her sister: Betsy Rouse and nephew Lee Sanders Barnett. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16th at West Hills Presbyterian Church with Dr. Fred C. Fowler III, Rev. John E. McKenzie, Rev. Scott Horne, and Rev. Michael Glass officiating. Family and friends will proceed to the graveside at Highland Memorial Cemetery for an interment service at 3:00 pm with Dr. Fred Fowler III officiating. The family will receive friends following the interment from 4:00 – 6:00 pm in the fellowship hall of West Hills Presbyterian Church at 7600 Bennington Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909.
