

Born August 10, 1936, in Pittsburgh PA., and was raised in Oakmont, PA. He was the son of Cletus P. Hall and Ruth A. Lanyon. The family later moved to St Petersburg FL where he graduated from St Petersburg High School in 1954.
Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda Sue Hall, his brother Dennis C. Hall and both of his parents. He is survived by his children: Richard M. Hall (Correen), of Sevierville TN, Mary Duckett (Larry), Lynn Hall, Mellissa Body (James), of Florence AZ, step daughters, Donna Powell (Andy) and Deana Brill (Chuck), of Ft Myers, FL, his grandchildren: Albert, Audrey, Brandy, Heather, Amber, and great grandchildren: Harley, Calvin, Ryder, Skyler, Casey, Tyler, Ava, Jayden, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Hall Seifried, and close cousin Elizabeth Blair of St Petersburg FL.
Dick served in the Army during the Korean War from 1955 to 1957, stationed in Camp Zama, Japan. He also served during the Viet Nam conflict as a DoD civilian contractor building micro-wave communication sites and performed duties en route as a Merchant-Mariner on a containerized ship between Oakland, Saigon, and various ports in Southeast Asia. He moved to Ft Myers Fl in 1974 and began working for the United Telephone Company (Sprint) from where he retired in 1993 as a supervisor. He was also proud to have served on the Ft Myers Fire Department Pension Board.
He loved to play golf, was the captain of the telephone company golf league, and played in numerous Pro-Am Tournaments at Ft Myers Country Club where he was a member for 42 years. In addition to his love for golf, he was competitive in pool and bowling, playing cards and loved to travel, take cruises with his family, and enjoyed beach cottage getaways. Dick, also known as Big Daddy, was known to enjoy his chocolates and sweets!
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady’s Chapel, St Jude the Apostle Cathedral, 5815 5th Ave. North, St Petersburg, FL 33710, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1 p.m. Following the mass, the family invites you to join them for a memorial gathering at Holiday Isles Elks Lodge #1912, 14111 E. Parsley Dr. Madeira Beach, Fl 33708, from 2-5 p.m.
