
BERRY, RICK WAYNE - 62 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on February 21, 2014 doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle in Kingston, Tennessee. Rick was born in Scottsboro, Alabama on March 7, 1951 and grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his mom, Jewell Sloan Welch and his three brothers, Ken, Buster, and Sam. At 18 years old he joined the US Navy and served twenty one years traveling all over the world and serving most of his time in Honolulu, Hawaii as a deep sea diver. He retired as Senior Chief. Rick later worked for Copeland Corporation and Honda of America in Anna, Ohio where he retired after 12 years. It was in Ohio where his love for riding motorcycles became his life’s passion and a peaceful way to enjoy God’s creation. Rick will live on through his loving Kiwi wife of 40 years, Judy Berry, his only daughter Crystal (Berry) Yexley, son-in-law Bob Yexley and two grandsons, Phoenix and Hunter. Rick was an amazing man of many talents and will always be remembered as a lover of Jesus, a sailor and soldier, a caring son, a forever brother, a devoted and serving Teddy Bear husband, a proud and giving daddy, a clever Papa, a fellow biker, and to so many others the “Ultimate Handyman” where he will leave his mark on everything he touched. Every person who has had the privilege of knowing him grew to love, respect and admire the constant smile and hearty laugh that was Rick Berry. Family and friends will celebrate Rick’s life on Saturday, March 1st at Faith Promise Church at 10740 Faith Promise Lane, Knoxville, TN 37931 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Casual attire.
