Robert (Bob) is preceded in death by his daughter Georgia April Dawn Mingle by two days. He is also preceded in death by his devoted wife of 40 years Debra Lynn Mingle, son Robert (Bobby) Layman Mingle IV, and father Robert Layman Mingle ll. He is survived and loved by his daughter Celina Oody and husband Tony, daughter Melissa Mingle, son James Frazier; grandchildren Skylar, Sadey, Kaden, Izaac, Gabriel, David, Teaghan, and Jaxson; mother Peggy Mingle, brother Curtis Mingle, and sister Nancy Ailor. Bob retired from the United States Army as Sergeant First Class after proudly serving 26 years as a tank driver and instructor. He put his country and family above all.
The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM The graveside service with military honors will be on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville.
