Ronald H. Gregg, age 84, of South Knoxville went to be with his Lord Monday morning, December 31, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was a 1952 graduate of Bearden High School, where he played Basketball and also competed in swimming and diving. Ronald began his career as a paint contractor working for his father and later assumed ownership of the business and retired after 45 years. He was a member and past Deacon at Meridian Baptist Church. He loved sports and especially enjoyed watching and supporting his son, Ricky as he competed in golf for years. Ronald was preceded in death by wife, Betty Jo Gregg; parents, Omer and Ann Gregg; sister, Doris Bullen; and a brother, Bill Gregg. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Kim Gregg; granddaughters, Kristin (Tate) Geren, Morgan (Daniel) Batten; great-grandchildren, Jackson Geren, Deacon Geren, Graham Batten, and Ensley Batten; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 1, 2018 in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy., Knoxville, TN 37920, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7:00 pm. Rev Tim Miller officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, 4401 Sutherland Ave. Knoxville, TN 37919, for an 11:00 am Interment Service.
