
Rose Marie Anderson Nelson, 94 of Knoxville TN, died at Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center on November 11, 2023.She was born in Asheville, NC on October 27, 1929, to Mary Zella Ogle and Andy Anderson. Rose graduated from Young High School in 1948. She retired from the University of Tennessee Math Department where she worked as a bookkeeper from 1969 until 1989.Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Fred M. Nelson, and infant daughter, Linda Gail Nelson. She is survived by her daughters Kathryn Ann Conner (Thomas Richard) and Karen Marie Fawver (Hugh E. deceased) and Karen's significant other (Richard C. Brewer). Rose and Fred enjoyed collecting Roseville pottery and combined that with trips around the eastern U.S. searching for different pieces. Rose was a charter and active member of St. Luke's United Methodist church until its closure in 2019. She was an active member of the Fellowship Sunday School class and of the United Methodist Women. Her church membership was transferred to Hillcrest Community Church. Rose loved her family, her friends, her cats, her church and most of all, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For the last 15 years Rose has been saying, “Lord, I'm ready to come home. Please come and get me.” He finally came for her on November 11. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a date to be determined.The family would like to thank the staff at Holston Health and Rehab Center, Caris Hospice, and Berry Funeral Home for their care of mom.
