Sally Huella Hood Miller, born Thanksgiving Day Nov. 24, 1927, passed away Sunday Jan. 29, 2023.
She was a seamstress who enjoyed her job of 30+ years at Standard Knitting Mills. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting and travel. However, the loves of her life were God, family, and her spouse of fifty years, Sam “Jones” Miller, who passed away unexpectedly in 1995. She was also preceded in death by parents - Seth & Mary Ott Hood; brothers – Brownlow, Joseph, William (Bill), Caswell and Seth (S.R.) Hood; sisters – Edna Wilhoite, Augusta Jett, Jane Thomas, Irene Miller and Marcella Mikels; sons-in-law – John (Tom) Wilson, Dale Laws, and Larry Chapman. While they will be having their reunion in Heaven, she is leaving behind daughters – Brenda Chapman, Sandra Laws, Reneau Webb and Trena Cable; son – Sam Miller, Jr.; daughter-in-law – Debbie Miller; sons-in-law Alan Webb and Greg Cable; 13 especially loved grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, special friend Gina Atchley; plus, many, many more beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She is leaving a legacy of love, laughter and friendship.
A visitation for Sally will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, in the Magnolia Chapel at Berry Highland South Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM, in the Garden of Valor at Berry HIghland South cemetery, 9010 Simpson Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Meadow View Baptist Church, 4300 Island Home Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 or a charity of your choice.
