KOON, SAMUEL ANDREW - age 82, of the Bluegrass Community, died August 8, 2013. He was a fixture at the Wiegel's at the corner of Bluegrass and Ebenezer for many years and well loved by the community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel A and Beatrice Combs Koon; brothers, Troy Koon and William "Bill" Stanley; sisters, Bernice Koon and Mohee Goodman. He is survived by his sister, Virginia D. and husband, Marion E. Lawhorn; nieces, "Laughing Julia" and husband, Steve Grisham, and Lisa A. and husband, David Leach; nephew, David E. Lawhorn; four great nieces; and six great-great nieces and nephews; special friends, LuAnne and Steve Garner and John Casey. The family will receive friends 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., Sunday, at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 2:30. Pastor Lee Wallace officiating.
