NELSON, Samuel H., age 64 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Ft. Sander’s Regional Medical Center. He was a member of West Haven Baptist Church. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Bell South. Preceded in death by father, Herbert Nelson, Jr. and mother, Blanche Curtis. Survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Darlene Nelson; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Angela Nelson; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ken Sawyers; grandchildren, Taylor Sawyers and fiance’ Morgan Mullins, Chloe and Ava Nelson; step-mother, JoAnn Nelson; half-brother, Mark Nelson; half-sister, Paige Sturkie. Family and friends will meet at 11:45 am Friday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 12 pm graveside service.
