Sherry was a beloved mother, wife and sister. She was of the Baptist faith. Sherry loved gardening and working in the yard, listening to music and traveling with her sister.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis J. Maynard III; Parents, Jay and Rosalie Taylor; grandparents, John and Mary Taylor, Earl and Rosa Lee Moore; special cousin, Jim Brown and Linda Moore; sister-in-law, Kay Matthews; niece, Wenonah Taylor and father and mother in-law, Flash and Rose Gray.
Survived by son, Roy Edward Matthews; step-children, Linda Maynard and Wayne (Shari) Maynard; grandchildren, Austin and Sydney Maynard; great-granddaughter, Nyla; sister, Vicky (David) Houser; brother, Danny Jay Taylor; nephew, Warren (Stephanie) Sublett; niece, Lucinda Taylor; great niece and nephews, Lauran, Fletcher, Sloane Sublett, Blakey Taylor and Gracie Strader; special cousins, Sandy Smith, Jane Walker, Ruth and Juanita Brown, Anita, Susie, Jr. Moore; Brenda Johnson; sister-in-law, Susan Maynard; dear friend, Shirley Queen.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm followed by a funeral service at 7:00pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy. Officiated by Keith Elkins. Family and friends will meet Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00pm for a graveside service at Mount Olive Cemetery, officiated by Edward Greene.
