Toby Bryan Bacot, 29, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Sunday, May 26. He is survived by his daughter Hadley Kayann Bacot, his mother, Kay Bacot, his three brothers Bo, Ben, and Andy, his girlfriend, Lindsey Wilson, and his grandmothers, Christine Starnes and Juddie Bacot. Toby is preceded in passing by his father, Bob Bacot.Toby grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC, where, as a child, he would often be found in tandem with his grandfather, Lewis Bacot, and where his grandmother, Juddie Bacot, had a street named after him – Toby Ct., off 2nd Avenue in North Myrtle Beach. Growing up, Toby was either riding his skateboard, or playing golf, and loved fishing when at his grandmother Christine’s farm. Toby attended Myrtle Beach High School, and the friends he made there became his extended family, where the bonds he made were as strong in the recent years as they were when originally forged. After high school, Toby moved to Knoxville, where he attended college. While in Knoxville, Toby grew his circle of friends, and it is here he met Lindsey. Toby and Lindsey welcomed their beautiful daughter, Hadley, into the world in March of 2012. Toby was maturing into an amazing young man, whose focus was on his newly formed family, and the love he had for his daughter was truly inspiring.
Toby had been working at Thermal Label Warehouse, where he worked closely with the owner, Tom Shaw. Toby and Tom had formed a close mentoring relationship, and Toby excelled at his work.
Toby was a fan of life, and lived it to the fullest. He “bled” orange for his Volunteers, could be found rocking to Pearl Jam most days, and was an avid bodybuilder. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hadley Bacot Fund, in care of: Harwell and Harwell, PC at 2131 First Tennessee Plaza, Knoxville, TN 37929.A local service will be held at Berry Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30. Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m., and the service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Another service will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC, to be announced at a later date.
Life is precious, but it is also fragile. If you knew Toby, and you loved him like we did, remember him as the happy, funny, spirit he was. He was a loving son, an amazing brother, and a wonderful father. If you can, please tell those close to you how much you love them. Share and treasure all the small moments, because life is given to us in an instant and taken from us in the same manner. Love those around you, your friends and your family, and make sure they know just how much. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com
