Wanda Key Henderlight passed away April 5, 2026. She was born on July 26, 1932, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a long time member of Stock Creek Baptist Church and originally was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church, where she was baptized.
Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William J. Henderlight, Sr. (Bill); son, David Lynn; father and mother, Adrian A. Key and Francis Green Key; brothers, Fred and Kenneth Key and sister, Jewell Key Buster.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, William J. Henderlight, Jr. (Chuck), wife Sandra; granddaughter, Katie Henderlight Haldeman, whom she loved dearly and her husband, Matt; great grandson, Leo Haldeman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was active in several organizations including serving for 8 years on the Selective Service Board #32 (Draft Board), Knox County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, South Knoxville Senior Center Advisory Board and was one of the founding members of Billy K. Nicely Scholarship Fund serving as treasurer. She loved traveling and square dancing. She also served as the secretary and board member of the Square Dancers Inc. for many years. Wanda was a graduate of Knoxville High School, attended U.T. briefly and was a graduate of Vanderbilt School of Banking in Nashville, TN. She retired from First American Bank as an AVP after many years and held many positions including Branch Manager, Branch Coordinator, Branch Auditor, Branch Compliance Officer and was involved in many other phases of banking.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM in the parlors of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy., Knoxville, TN 37920. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 PM Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville with Rev. Buddy Johnson officiating.
