Alice Marie (Lape) Hoskins, 78, of Kokomo, passed away Thursday October 17, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at Community Howard Regional Hospital. She was born in Kokomo to the late James Lape and Helen (Salmons) Lape on January 25, 1941.
Alice graduated from Clay Township High School with the class of 1959. She volunteered for the Gilead House in Kokomo for several years where she drove the girls to their appointments or anywhere they needed to go. She developed personal relationships with all of them. She had a passion for helping others in her community. When Alice was in Home Health Care, every morning before she went into work, she got her index cards out while sitting in her car, and prayed for those who were in need.
Whomever Alice came across in her lifetime, they were touched by her loving nature. She was a clown for many years, playing the act of "Rosie" for birthday parties and various events. Alice enjoyed crafts, and was very involved in her church; Center Road Church of Christ and had a card ministry, reaching out to those whom were sick or needing lifting up.
Alice loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She is already missed and will continue to be for a lifetime to come.
Surviving her are children Sue Arnold (Tom), Randy Hoskins (Darsha), and Rowland Hoskins Jr., grandchildren, Jessica Arnold, Ashley Bryant, Chelsie Arnold, Karen and Kelly Arnold (whom are twins), Brianne Arnold, Shamia Roberts, Courtney Hoskins, Kim Mulliniks, Camille Hoskins, and Rowland Hoskins III, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Those who have passed before her are her parents, sister Judy Lape, brother Donnie Lape, and her much loved "favorite child" Hayley.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to donate in Alice's memory, please volunteer or donate to the Gilead House or your charity of choice.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Howard Community hospital for their love and care and to the staff of "Tammy's place" aka Century Villa in Greentown.
A celebration of life for Alice is being planned for a future date.
