Barbara Mary Miller Cassis

Barbara Mary Cassis, 82, passed away on July 1, 2017. She was born to Dolphus and Viola Miller Zapp on April 15, 1935 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Mrs. Cassis Is a graduate of Decatur Central High School, Indianapolis, and attended Butler University. Barbara was married to Richard Cassis for 53 years.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She is a past president of Howard County Womens Golf Association. She was employed as an executive secretary at Delco Electronics. She was a past President and member of the PEO’s DM Chapter. She was also a member and past President of the Kokomo Symposium. Barbara was an early member/founder of the am Rotary Club in Kokomo. Barbara served as Kokomo Symphony's Executive Director from 1981 to 1996, in a role she truly loved and cherished.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Richard Cassis; son David (Sheryl) Cassis; daughter Amy (Christian) Treend; grandchildren Sophie and Ethan Treend and Masin and Lucie Cassis and her three Sisters Rhea (Al) Jones, Shirley (Dick) Wehrel, and Jennifer (John) McGlone.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 602 W Superior St, Kokomo, Indiana 46901.
