Benita "Betty" Carmen Hopkins

Benita "Betty" Carmen Hopkins, age 92, of Kokomo, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2024. She was born on March 21, 1932 in Poth, Texas to Jesus and Margarita (Cavazos) Valadez. She married William E. Hopkins on December 22, 1964. She loved sewing, dancing, cooking for her family and going to Texas for many winters. She was a life-long member of St. Joan of Arc Church.

She is survived by her children, Steven S. Sanders of Lafayette, Indiana, Susan (Sanders) Bartrum of Kokomo, Indiana, Cinthia (Sanders) Downs of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Tomas A. Hopkins (Brenda) of Kokomo, Indiana and Tiffin (Hutto) Depres of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Deloris (Lolly) Mickelson, Genevieve Root, and Josie DeSchamps; and brothers, Raymond Valadez and Gilbert Valadez.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Hopkins; sisters, Gavina Ford, Lisa Ferren, Helen Taylor and Jane Keller; and brothers, Jesse Valadez and Rudy Valadez.

A time of visitation for Benita will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow with a committal service at Crown Point Cemetery, 1101 E. Sycamore St., Kokomo.
