Carolyn Faye (Sparks) Furnish

Carolyn Faye Furnish, 88, of Kokomo passed away December 28, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 8, 1930 in Effingham, Illinois to Charles R. and Edna V. (Doty) Sparks. Carolyn was a loving wife to Raymond Furnish, whom she married in February of 1960. They were together until his passing in 1994. They were a military family and she followed him from station to station, raising 3 boys. When they settled in Kokomo, Carolyn went to work for Delco, staying with them until retirement. She loved to travel to Florida, spending many winters there until she decided to stay for a few years. Eventually, she moved back to Indiana to be near her grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event that involved them! Carolyn enjoyed tending to houseplant and flowers and would play cards with anyone that would join her. Most of all, she loved her family. She cherished her time spent with them. Carolyn is survived by sisters Ruby Ferguson and Delores (Ron) Frazier; sons, Doug (Leigh) and David (Becky) Furnish; grandchildren, Stephany (Tim) Maiben, Ryan Furnish, Jarrod (Kristen) Furnish, David Furnish Jr. and Sarah (Tristan) Cooper; great grandchildren, Hayden, Hallie, Averie and Addie Maiben, Colton and Layla Furnish, and Chloe, Conner and Claire Cooper, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Raymond, she was preceded in death by son, Donald Furnish, and siblings Jack and Charles Sparks, Ruth Niccum and Mary Edna Sparks. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 2 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN from 3-5pm with services to follow, officiated by Lynn Brust.
