Fred B. Reed

Frederick B. Reed, 75, of Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 29, 1949, to John & Lela Reed, Sharpsville. Fred served in the 2nd Battalion, 94th Artillery in the United States Army. Upon returning from Vietnam, Fred married his wife of 53 years, Patricia A. (Stout) Reed, on January 8, 1972.

Fred was a 1968 graduate of Sharpsville High School and enjoyed getting together for dinner with his fellow classmates. After 20 years, he retired from Chrysler in June of 2015. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling, and visiting war memorials and museums. He was also a member of Kingdom Life Christian Ministries in Kokomo.

He is survived by his wife; his son, Frederick (Cynthia) Reed Jr; his stepson, Jeffrey Jumper; his grandson, David (Alisha) Love; great-grandchildren, Austin Kord and Camden Love; his sister, Pam (Don) Barcus and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, John Mahlon; his sister, Hannah; a stepdaughter and a brother-in-law.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster Street in Kokomo. A funeral service will directly follow with Pastor Glenn Waltman officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery in Kokomo.
