Gary was born on October 23rd, 1947 to Theodore Andrew and Ruth Kobel (Dahl) in Hartford, CT

Gary was married to Rebecca Ann Kobel (Wells) for the past 15 years.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Ann Kobel, son’s Gary C. Kobel Jr. and Tommy (StacyOkonski) King, daughters Terrie A. Travieso, Danell M. Paniss of Rhode Island, Tracy and Crystal King of Chicago, IL; brothers Theodore Kobel Jr of Woodlands, TX and Kurt W. Kobel of Hudson, FL, sister Kimberley R. Simeone of New Port Richey, FL. He is also survived by grandchildren Nikki and Brianna Kobel, Francesca M. Mendes, Nastassia Hunt, Julianna Paniss, Monica Paniss, Daniel C. Paniss, Haley and Andrew Travieso, Averie King, and Alexis Pedraza.

Gary enjoyed collecting all sorts of sports memorabilia, including baseball cards. His was a kind, compassionate, and giving man in which he donated to many charitable organizations over the years. He was a member of New Life Church. Gary honorable served this great country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army.

Services will be held on Tuesday April 4th, 2017 at 11:00am with visitation from 10am until time of service and on Monday April 3rd from 4-8pm at Ellers Mortuary (3400 S Webster Street 46902). Interment with Military Honors will be at Marion National Cemetery on April 4th at 2:00pm
