Gwyn Rae (Francis) Brewer

Gwyn Rae (Francis) Brewer, 71, of Kokomo went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 01, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born August 29, 1947 in Kokomo to George Robert and Helen (Baker) Francis. February 17, 1968 Gwyn married the love of her life, Paul “Dennis” Brewer, and together they raised three children. Gwyn was a strong Christian woman and she and Dennis are covenant members of Grace Baptist Church. She worked hard all her life, retiring from Delco after 30 years of service. She loved music and would often share new and old favorites with her family. Gwyn was selfless, always giving to others as needed. She loved spending time outside, planting flowers and trees and trimming the lawn with her weed-eater. Any time there was an IU basketball game on television, you knew Gwyn would have it tuned in to root for her favorite team. Most of all, Gwyn loved her family. She always made sure when there was a birthday or holiday that everyone from all sides was invited to come together and share her good cooking and fellowship with one another. Gwyn was the glue that held their families together and she will be dearly missed. Gwyn is survived by her husband, Dennis; son, Paul Brewer, Jr.; daughter, Tammy (Mike) Boyles; brother, Steve (Valerie) Francis; twin sister, Lynn Smith; sister-in-law, Tammy Francis; grandchildren, Hollie, Charlie and Lexie; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gwyn is preceded in death by her daughter, Christi Brewer; brother, Rick Francis; sister, Bobbi Schafer; grandson, Austin Boyles; and brother-in-law, Jerry Smith. Family will receive friends Monday, June 3 from 4-7pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN. Celebration of life will be Tuesday, June 4 at 11am, to be officiated by Pastor Kerry Williams, also at Sunset Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund for Grace Baptist Church, 2818 S Park Rd, Kokomo, IN 46902.
