Helen Louise Holt

Helen Louise Holt, 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 25 at her residence with family by her side. She was born to William and Martha Kidd on April 5, 1925 in Kokomo. Helen married Dempsey R. Holt on May 30, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2000. Helen owned and operated Suburban Beauty Salon for 18 years. Besides being a beautician, Helen also enjoyed making candy and sewing.

Helen and her family traveled often. She and Dempsey visited all 50 states together, and took a 22 day trip to England, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. She also traveled with her daughter, Dana, to Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand. She had been to Hawaii twice in her life- once with her mother, and once with Dempsey and Dana. Helen lived a very full life.

Helen is survived by daughters Debra (James) Statzell and Dana Louise Holt; son David (Susan) Holt; daughter-in-law Joan Holt; grandchildren Mathew Hobson, Abram Hobson, Amy Boyer, Bradley Holt, Kelsie Holt, and Kaycie Holt; and great-grandchildren Logan and Ellie Boyer.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey R. Holt; son Dennis Holt; parents William and Martha Kidd.

Services will be private, at Helen’s request.
