Jim graduated from Eastern High School in 1962. He then went on to work for General Motors and retired after 30 years.
Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fulton County and around Kokomo as well. He was a big racing fan, and loved to watch Nascar.
Jim enjoyed any body of water, especially if he was on vacation with his family. He was a loving, caring, and kind soul that will be missed by many.
Jim is survived by his children Dawn (David) Thomas, Shawn Harris, Tammy Kennedy, Randy (Charlotte) Kennedy; daughter-in-law Debbie Kennedy; grandchildren Melissa Matricia, Meghan Zwiebel, Courtney Ditchley, Shawn Harris Jr., Kassey Kennedy, Kayla Kennedy, Kagan Kennedy, Kelsey Kennedy, Natalie Haddad, Jeremy Kennedy, Steven Johnston, and Ron Johnston. He also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Harris; son Chuck Kennedy; brother Gary Harris; and sister Charlene Roseberry.
A visitation for Jim will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284 and the COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Miami, Florida 33134.
