
He was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where he taught children in Junior Chapel for eleven years. He was retired from Chrysler and enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Martin, Kokomo; a son, Jay Martin (Debbie), Kokomo; two daughters, Laurie Martin, Kokomo, and Vicki Hazzard (Dan), Lake Station, Indiana; a step-son, Johnathan Jasay (Bobbi), Kokomo; a step-daughter, Kelly Fife (Keith), Pittsboro, Indiana; seven brothers, Richard Martin (Leah Mae), Athens, West Virginia, Dan Martin, Richland, Washington, Frank Martin, Anawalt, West Virginia, Ed Martin (Mary), Salisbury, North Carolina, Roger Martin, Doug Martin, Dolomite, Alabama, and Norman Martin (Phyllis), Noblesville; four sisters, Marilyn Ferris (Buddy), Norwood, North Carolina, Joan Akers (Jackie), Salisbury, North Carolina, Paulette Butler, Thorpe, West Virginia, and Joyce Carque (Mike), Ormond Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Sylvia Martin, Carthage, Indiana; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pall bearers for the funeral will be Matthew White, Jordan Martin, Jacob Martin, Dakota Jasay, Austin Jasay, and Kevin Brock.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Martin.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Landmark Missionary Baptist, 2324 N. Ohio St., Kokomo, IN 46901, with Pastor Robert Morphew officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church or Guardian Angel Hospice, 513 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902.
