Janice E Smith

Janice E. "Jan" Smith, 78, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:10 am on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. She was born May 5, 1940 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Will and Mary (Taylor) Norvell. She married Delmar Avery "Smitty" Smith on May 19, 1956. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2008.

She retired from Delco Electronics after 11 years in production. She also assisted her husband, Smitty, in operating their business, Smitty's Lawnmower Shop. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Jan attended Cowboy Church and was a past member of First Assembly of God.

Surviving family are daughter, Carla Smith; two sons, Brian (Tracy) Smith, and Steve (Elaine) Smith; grandchildren and great-grandchildren who reside in Indiana, California, and South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and Buddy, her canine companion.

Preceded her in death is her loving husband of 52 years, Smitty, her parents, and siblings.

The funeral service for Jan will be on Friday, June 8, at 4:00 pm at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo and will be officiated by Pastor Brian Smith. There will be a time of visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of service on Friday, also at the mortuary. There will be a private entombment at Sunset Memory Garden.
