Jeffrey Joseph Hartmann

Jeffrey Joseph Hartmann, age 69, of Kokomo, Indiana, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Jeffrey was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Joseph and Corine (Aubert) Hartmann. He graduated from Lawton High School in Lawton, Michigan. He later married Rita Bradley on August 7, 2001, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. That day, he gained 4 step-children; Ashley, Austin, Adam and Alec. He absolutely loved his wife and was a kind, wonderful husband and step-father. Jeff was also multitalented. He could build anything he set his mind to. He loved target shooting, motorcycles, and tinkering with old stuff; especially his vintage 1976 GMC motorhome, in which he and Rita would often travel. He loved his dogs, Buddy the Pomeranian, and Ira the Lab. He loved chocolate, peanut butter and Moscow Mules. His favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." He had a fantastic sense of humor, and his caring, loving nature will be missed immensely. Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Rita (Bradley) Hartmann; his step-children, Ashley N. Couch (Eddie Clem), Austin B. Rutherford (Lauren), Adam J. Rutherford (April), and Alec J. Rutherford; 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; brother, Thomas Hartmann of La Quinta, CA; and sister, Jaclyn Aubert (John) of Greensboro, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Corine Hartmann. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be very much appreciated to assist in covering final expenses. A memorial gathering for Jeffrey will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Following the memorial gathering will be a funeral service at 5:30 PM.
