Obituary of Jerald L King
Jerald L. King, 76 of Kokomo passed away at 8:53 AM Monday November 18, 2019 at Community Howard Regional Hospital, Kokomo. Born June 16, 1943 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Orville King and Alice (Weir) King. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. On January 16, 1968 in Kokomo, he married Dianne Ellen (Hite). She preceded him in death on February 4, 2018. He was employed with Continental Steel for 19 years; then with Chrysler Corporation for 16 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Peru Masonic Lodge # 67 F&AM, U.A.W. Local # 685; and also loved woodworking. Survivors include one son Larry (Georganna) King of Burlington; daughters Debbie (Bobby) Parks of Sharpsville, Kelly King and husband Mick Collins of Kokomo, and Lisa (Trevor) Cooper, also of Kokomo; brothers Greg (Robin) King of Greentown, Max (Margaret) King of Young America, Steve King, Jeff (Jenine) King and Mike (Jane) King, all of Kokomo; sisters Sandy (Jim) Cohee of Young America, Carol (Dan) Estle of Plevna, Pam (John) Johnson of Russiaville, and Tanya (Rhett) Wells of Kokomo. There are also seven grandchildren Cody, Brittney, Devin, Jeremy, Amber, Caleb and Gage; five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers Mark King and David King; also one sister Sue Morris. Funeral services with Military Rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo with Pastor Toph Elkins officiating. Howard Lodge #93 F&AM and Peru Lodge #67 F&AM will be conducting a masonic service at 12:30PM Saturday. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the mortuary.
