Jo Ann Cooper

Jo Ann Cooper, age 84, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was born December 8,1940 to Joseph and Burxia (Janes) Hornback in Oak Park, Illinois. She graduated from Luce Township High School, in Richland, Indiana. She worked for General Motors and retired after 30 years. She loved her Lord. She enjoyed traveling, playing the piano and singing in the Gospel group, In Jesus Name. She was an avid reader and crafter. She indulged in painting, sewing and cooking, as well. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Survivors include her son, Mark (Karen) Cooper; daughter, Jona Lea (Todd) Hayes; grandchildren, Joe (Quyn) Cooper, Sara (Adam) Kenworthy, Meagan (Aaron) Aaron, and Matthew (Sarah) Rojas; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Cooper, Brooklyn Cooper, Olivia Kenworthy, Russell Kenworthy, Gracie Aaron, Mason Aaron, Lilly Aaron, Levi Rojas and Noah Rojas; and brother, Leonard (Carol) Hornback.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her mother and father, Burxia and Joseph, and her husband, Albert Cooper.

A time of visitation for Jo Ann will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 10:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, IN 46902, followed by a funeral from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at Albright Cemetery.
