

John Wesley Rabbits, 74, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Community Howard Regional. He was born October 19, 1940, in Ashland, Pennsylvania, to John J. and Florence Mae Rabbits. On April 7, 1961, he married Sandra Carol (Brumley) Rabbits, in Watsonville, California, and she survives.
He served in the United Army from 1958 to 1962 and later worked at PPG Industry, Milbank Manufacturing as a die repairman for seventeen years, and then for Kokomo Center Schools, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed horseback riding, motorcycle riding and bowling and cherished spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by one son, Ron Rabbits, Kokomo; one daughter, Jodi Bitner, Kokomo; seven grandchildren, Alex Ross, Chris Ross, Corey Ross, Angel Ross, Kaylee (Jake) Moon, Karissa Roberts, and Kalob Bitner; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Lord, California; two brothers, Fred Rabbits, Pennsylvania, and Randy Rabbits, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Terri Lynn in 1997.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
