

Juanita Harness Young, 97, formerly of Kokomo, passed away on June 25, 2017. She was born to William and Vianna Reynolds on October 28, 1919 in Coles County, Illinois. Juanita married Coyd Harness on October 31, 1939, and he precedes her in death. She worked as a bookkeeper at Rapps Clothing Store, but was mainly a homemaker. She later married Wilburn “Jack” Young in July of 1993, and he precedes her in death as well.
Juanita was a beautiful woman. She loved her family, and was the most wonderful mother and grandmother in the world.
Juanita leaves behind her daughter, Becky Blackburn Hoover; grandchildren Karen (Mike) Osborne, Randy Harness, Jerryl “Jerri” Dye, Sherry (Mickey) Shelton, and Jeff (Jodi) Ennis; 11 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents; husband Coyd Harness; second husband Wilburn “Jack” Young; son Jack Harness; daughter-in-law Janet Newton Harness, daughter Katy Fortune; brothers Jesse, Ed, Elwood “Burt,” and Claude “Curly” Reynolds; sister Gladys Rees; grandsons Denny Blackburn, Curt Harness, and Patrick Ennis.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Juanita will be laid to rest at Nevada Cemetery.
